The solar energy system of Pori’s swimming hall

The city of Pori made a brave opening by choosing solar energy to be one of the energy sources of their swimming hall. Special attention was paid to the appearance of the swimming hall. For the first time in the world the façade of a swimming hall was integrated with Aurubiks Nordic Solar heat system. In addition, there are 360 square metres of solar panels (50 kWp) and 200 square metres of solar heat collectors on the roof of the hall.

The swimming hall project combined the latest technology, the development of renewable energy sources applications, research and innovations as well as strong local know-how. Energy efficiency has been considered also in other solutions, e.g. the heat is recovered from both the exhaust air of air conditioning and shower water.
