Description

Over the years, Finnish voluntary Energy Efficiency Agreements have evolved into a unique success story that is not found elsewhere in the world. During 2008-2016, the industrial, municipal, property and building as well as oil sector participated widely in Energy Efficiency Agreements. At the end of 2016, agreements covered over 65 percent of Finland’s total energy use.

There are two kinds of energy audits: the mandatory energy audits pursuant to the Energy Efficiency Act, concerning big corporations, and the voluntary energy audits aided by the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Employment, concerning other companies.
